Matir Katha Machine List West Bengal (মাটির কথা)

“Matir Katha” is an ICT-based agri-extension service developed as a “Farmers Single Window Digital Platform”. It aims to provide last-mile access to agricultural knowledge, government policies, and expert advice, among other resources, through mobile and cloud technology.

It began as a pilot project in six districts in October 2013 and was expanded to the entire state by June 2015. The initiative was later funded by a company called InGreens, which was incubated at IIT Kharagpur’s Science and Technology Enterprise Park (STEP). It also received support from NABARD’s Rural Innovation Fund.

Matir Katha Scheme 2025 Objectives

  • Providing accurate and up-to-date information on government-recommended agricultural practices and techniques to farmers.

Matir Katha Net Registration Process 2025

Step 1. Visit the official website: First of all, go to the official website or the portal of the Agriculture Department.

Step 2. Select the ‘Registration’ option: Click on the Farmer Registration or Sign Up link on the homepage. Get the Matir Katha Application Form.

Step 3. Fill in the required information: Enter information like farmer’s name, father/husband’s name, mobile number, Aadhaar number, address, block and district. Also, enter the land details (field size, crop type, etc.).

Step 4. Upload Documents: Upload ID proof (Aadhaar or Voter ID), land-related documents and passport size photo, etc.

Step 5. Set Password: Secure the account by creating a secure password.

Step 6. OTP Verification: You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number. Enter it and verify.

Step 7. Complete Registration: After pressing the submit button. Your registration will be completed, and you will get a login ID/Username (মাটির কথা কৃষক বন্ধু ID).

Step 8. Login and avail services: After registration, you can avail soil health card, insurance, pest control advice and other agricultural services by logging into the Portal or App.

Matir Katha Krishak Bandhu Status Check

Step 1. Open the Matir Katha Portal (মাটির কথা ওয়েবসাইট) in your browser.

Step 2. Now select the option related to “Application/Status” or “Track Application”.

Step 3. Enter the required information. Like application number (Application ID), mobile number or Aadhaar number, etc.

Step 4. After this, click on the “Submit” button.

Step 5. Your application status will be displayed on the screen. Like Pending, Approved, Rejected, and Disbursed.
