In a country like India, accurate and up-to-date data is essential for assessing the quality and accessibility of education. To this end, UDISE Plus (Unified District Information System for Education Plus) was launched in 2018-19. It is an upgraded and modernised version of the earlier UDISE system, based entirely on online data collection and analysis.
The primary objective of UDISE+ is to provide all critical data related to schools, students, and teachers on a centralised platform. This includes school profiles, student enrollment, teacher information, infrastructure, digital resources, dropout rates, and other educational indicators. This data can help central and state governments better formulate education policies and plans.
