Features of Aikyashree Scheme 2025
- This scheme is for education from Class 1 to the PhD or MPhil level. Similarly, the OASIS Scholarship has been implemented for backward caste students of West Bengal.
- There are different types of scholarships. For example, pre-matric, post-matric, merit-cum-means, and special grants for technical/professional courses.
- The amount of assistance varies for “day scholars” and “hostellers.” Therefore, students who commute from home to study receive different aid. Those who live in rooms/hostels receive more assistance for additional expenses.
- There is a family income limit so that assistance is provided to truly economically disadvantaged students. This limit is typically around ₹200,000 annually for pre-matric and post-matric students. It may be slightly higher, such as ₹250,000, for technical/professional courses.
- A minimum percentage of marks or grades in the previous qualifying examination or pre-matriculation examination is required. Typically, a grade of 50% or equivalent is required.
